London 11+ Consortium assessment (girls’ schools)

The 13 schools share one test: set by Quest Assessments (inferred from the pages, which do not name it outright), taken online. It tests maths, English, reading comprehension, verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and the test’s other sections.

Who sits it. Children in Year 6, for a place in Year 7 in September 2027: sat from Friday 27 November 2026.

  • Reading

    From the autumn of Year 5, a weekly reading day: one unseen passage and 9 questions on it, from a bank of 130 passages.

  • The last fortnight

    In the last 14 days before the exam date the plan works to, sessions are shorter and nothing new is introduced. The plan works to November of Year 6; until the schools publish the day for your child’s year, that date is an estimate.

What has changed
The Consortium (formerly the North London Girls’ Schools’ Consortium, which used a CEM-style test) introduced a new bespoke online assessment in 2022 for entry in September 2023 onwards. For 2027 entry the membership is 13 schools; St James Senior Girls’ School is no longer listed. Source
