Remelia

How we research

Every fact on Remelia’s school and exam pages comes from a page that a school, a council, a consortium or a test provider published, or from gov.uk. This page says how those facts are found, what the labels on them mean, and how to tell us when one is wrong.

Who writes it

The pages are written and published by Misheli Ltd, the company that runs Remelia. No page names a person as its author. Remelia is not affiliated with any school, consortium or exam board.

What the research holds

Counted from the research when this site was built.

Where the facts come from

We cite only what the people who run a test publish: the schools, the councils, the consortia, the test providers, and gov.uk for national tests such as the KS2 SATs. Commercial 11+ guides, forums and tutoring sites are never cited, even where they are right. Each fact keeps the address of the page it came from, the words quoted from it and the day it was read, and the exam pages list them.

Stated, inferred and unknown

Stated
The school’s, council’s or provider’s own page says it in so many words.
Inferred
The pages do not say it outright, but it follows from what they do say: for example, a test whose four parts are named but not its provider. The page marks it as inferred.
Unknown
Nothing published settles it. The page says so rather than guess.

How often it is checked

Every exam, school and area page shows the day its facts were last checked against their sources, and the sitemap gives that day as the page’s last change. The site is rebuilt from the research each month. We read each test’s pages again at least once each admissions cycle; an area page with nothing checked in the last 400 days is taken out of search until it is checked again. Dates and arrangements change, so a school’s own admissions page is always the final word. When a test’s own pages announce a change of provider, format, date or intake, it is listed on Changes to the entrance tests, also as an Atom feed.

How the practice questions are made

Every practice question on this site and in the app is written by Remelia in the style of the tests: none is copied from a test paper. Questions come from generators written for each objective the app teaches, its 199 maths and 90 English objectives among them. Before a generator’s questions are used, a separate validator, not the one who built it, solves a sample without seeing the answers and checks every answer, hint and wrong option against the key.
